World of Warcraft - The Online MMORPG

World of Warcraft is a massive, multiplayer, online, role-playing game known as an MMORPG played by millions of people simultaneously around the globe. Created by Blizzard Entertainment in 2003, the game has improved massively and is accessed by over 10 million players; each player paying 9.99p per month to access the online virtual world. This hugely addictive game has over 1,000 worlds known as realms that players store their character/s in to access at any time.

The game is consisted of the noble Alliance and the evil Horde, both different sides fighting against each other in a constant war. You, as the customer have been asked to join the Alliance or of course the Horde to fight in battle and make your side proud - while the guards are away fighting in different regions around Azeroth and now Outland.

The Alliance are consisted of 5 races, Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, Night Elves and now the Draenei - a new race brought into the game with the expansion pack - The Burning Crusade.

The Horde are consisted of 5 races, Orcs, Trolls, Undead', Tauren and the Blood Elves - a new race brought int othe game with the expansion pack - The Burning Crusade.

Each side/team has different starting positions around the globe, such as the Humans which are part of the noble Alliance start in Northrend in Elwynn Forest - Eastern Kingdoms. The Orc's start in The Valley of Trials, Durotar - Kalimdor.

The aim of the game is to quest which are given to you by npc's in game, that simply start off with: 'Kill 20 Kobold Rats, and earn 30 copper' which is the main advantage to quests, rewards and lovely experience. Each player has an experience bar at the bottom of their screen, that is in bars, each quest you complete - you gain experience which loads up your bar closer to the next level. For example, you complete the quest of 20 Kobold Rats, then you return it, and receive 30 copper, and 1,000 experience, which then you will level up, and you have to receive different spells/moves etc.

Each race has a different class, the ones available are: Warriors, Paladins, Mages, Warlocks, Druids, Hunters, Priests and Shamans. - Each with unique abilities and spells/moves to enable the player to use and gain levels. Each and every two levels, the player must go to the class trainer, such as if you are a Mage, you gain a level from 1-2 you will have to spend 10 copper at a trainer of your class, to receive a new spell which can be an enhancement, a new spell or a move.

There is different regions in the game, as there is two islands in Azeroth; Kalimdor and The Eastern Kingdom's. For every 10 levels you gain, there is a new place for you to complete new quests and gain move levels, such as if you are part of the Alliance you will have to move from Elwynn Forest to Westfall - the regions vary from side to side.

Each side, may it be the Alliance or the Horde has a city for each race. The Alliance have many cities and strongholds throughout the game, such as; Stormwind City, Ironforge, Darnassus and of course the Exodar - which was brought in via the expansion pack.

The Horde on the other hand have cities too, but of course darker, and more sinister forces are at work... The cities they have are; Orgrimmar, Undercity, Thunder-Bluff and of course Silvermoon City which was brought in via the expansion pack.

As characters progress, they will have many quests to venture into dungeons and kill a certain boss that is hindering them. These quests will have to be completed with a group of 5 people, you will need a Healer, a Tank, and three Damage per second classes, such as Rogues, Mages and Warlocks. - There is many more additions to bosses, such as loot for each class enhancing their gear and armour stats.

Guilds are a main addition to the game, where players can interact with one and other via /guild chat to make raids on the other foes cities, or create groups to go into the dungeons and or raid dungeons available.

Player versus player is a major part of World of Warcraft - hence the 'War' part of the name, each side whatever race they may be will be targeted for 'PvP combat' whenever entering an area of the other side, or a contested area, where players from both side quest and or complete dungeons.

Chat and Combat logs - these are a very large thing in your interface, it can be edited to your hearts content and is used by all who play the game. Treat other players nicely, and you'll get treated nicely too.

World of Warcraft, why not join in with 10,000,000 other people - it seems like a lot of numbers I know, but it is definitely worth the money and time spent playing the hard, heart fulfilled game.

-I hope this helps you readers understand more about the game and it's origins.
