World of Warcraft is a massive, multiplayer, online, role-playing game known as an MMORPG played by millions of people simultaneously around the globe. Created by Blizzard Entertainment in 2003, the game has improved massively and is accessed by over 10 million players; each player paying 9.99p per month to access the online virtual world. This hugely addictive game has over 1,000 worlds known as realms that players store their character/s in to access at any time.
The game is consisted of the noble Alliance and the evil Horde, both different sides fighting against each other in a constant war. You, as the customer have been asked to join the Alliance or of course the Horde to fight in battle and make your side proud - while the guards are away fighting in different regions around Azeroth and now Outland.
The Alliance are consisted of 5 races, Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, Night Elves and now the Draenei - a new race brought into the game with the expansion pack - The Burning Crusade.
The Horde are consisted of 5 races, Orcs, Trolls, Undead', Tauren and the Blood Elves - a new race brought int othe game with the expansion pack - The Burning Crusade.
Each side/team has different starting positions around the globe, such as the Humans which are part of the noble Alliance start in Northrend in Elwynn Forest - Eastern Kingdoms. The Orc's start in The Valley of Trials, Durotar - Kalimdor.
The aim of the game is to quest which are given to you by npc's in game, that simply start off with: 'Kill 20 Kobold Rats, and earn 30 copper' which is the main advantage to quests, rewards and lovely experience. Each player has an experience bar at the bottom of their screen, that is in bars, each quest you complete - you gain experience which loads up your bar closer to the next level. For example, you complete the quest of 20 Kobold Rats, then you return it, and receive 30 copper, and 1,000 experience, which then you will level up, and you have to receive different spells/moves etc.
Each race has a different class, the ones available are: Warriors, Paladins, Mages, Warlocks, Druids, Hunters, Priests and Shamans. - Each with unique abilities and spells/moves to enable the player to use and gain levels. Each and every two levels, the player must go to the class trainer, such as if you are a Mage, you gain a level from 1-2 you will have to spend 10 copper at a trainer of your class, to receive a new spell which can be an enhancement, a new spell or a move.
There is different regions in the game, as there is two islands in Azeroth; Kalimdor and The Eastern Kingdom's. For every 10 levels you gain, there is a new place for you to complete new quests and gain move levels, such as if you are part of the Alliance you will have to move from Elwynn Forest to Westfall - the regions vary from side to side.
Each side, may it be the Alliance or the Horde has a city for each race. The Alliance have many cities and strongholds throughout the game, such as; Stormwind City, Ironforge, Darnassus and of course the Exodar - which was brought in via the expansion pack.
The Horde on the other hand have cities too, but of course darker, and more sinister forces are at work... The cities they have are; Orgrimmar, Undercity, Thunder-Bluff and of course Silvermoon City which was brought in via the expansion pack.
As characters progress, they will have many quests to venture into dungeons and kill a certain boss that is hindering them. These quests will have to be completed with a group of 5 people, you will need a Healer, a Tank, and three Damage per second classes, such as Rogues, Mages and Warlocks. - There is many more additions to bosses, such as loot for each class enhancing their gear and armour stats.
Guilds are a main addition to the game, where players can interact with one and other via /guild chat to make raids on the other foes cities, or create groups to go into the dungeons and or raid dungeons available.
Player versus player is a major part of World of Warcraft - hence the 'War' part of the name, each side whatever race they may be will be targeted for 'PvP combat' whenever entering an area of the other side, or a contested area, where players from both side quest and or complete dungeons.
Chat and Combat logs - these are a very large thing in your interface, it can be edited to your hearts content and is used by all who play the game. Treat other players nicely, and you'll get treated nicely too.
World of Warcraft, why not join in with 10,000,000 other people - it seems like a lot of numbers I know, but it is definitely worth the money and time spent playing the hard, heart fulfilled game.
-I hope this helps you readers understand more about the game and it's origins.

AP - Iraq's largest Sunni party said Saturday that it has suspended official contacts with American military personnel and civilians after the killing of a man near Fallujah.
It is a question that has perplexed philosophers and scientists since the dawn of man, 'what exactly is time?' and it has only been in our recent history that we have started to discover answers, thanks to Einstein and his work on special and general relativity.
We now know time is not the abstract concept we first thought it was, we also know it is not constant and is relative to different observers throughout the universe with the speed of light being the only constant in the universe.
In other words if the speed of light has to be the same for everybody then someone travelling at close to such a speed would find time slow down.
Fortunately as all humans live within the boundaries of the planet Earth it means the passing of time is very similar for us all (or so minutely different as to be impossible to measure). However, technologies such as satellites and GPS systems have to take into account this altering state of time otherwise they would become wholly inaccurate.
As humans have progressed, telling the time with ever increasing accuracy has become more and more important. Historically, knowing the time was not so imperative. People needed to know the correct day to plant crops or when sunrise and sunset happened but accuracy was not a preoccupation.
However, since the invention of the mechanical clock followed at the turn of the twentieth century by electronic clocks, humans have started to rely on more and more accuracy for their technologies.
Seafaring, aviation and now space travel mean that humans have sought more and more accurate ways of keeping time.
In the 1950's atomic clocks were developed which were so accurate it was discovered that the revolution of the Earth, something we had based our timescale on for centuries, was no where near as accurate as these new clocks.
Now technologies such as the Internet, the Global Positioning System and satellite communication requires absolute precision as light can travel 300,000 km every second meaning accuracies of a split second could mean our satellite navigation systems could be out by thousands of miles and computer trading would be nigh on impossible.
Fortunately a global time scale, UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), has been developed and is based on the time told by atomic clocks. This allows systems all over the world to be synchronised to the exact same time.
Computer networks use the NTP protocol (Network Time Protocol) to receive a UTC timing reference and synchronise all machines on a network to that time.
NTP servers can receive a time reference over the Internet (although not very secure) from a national radio transmission (as long as the receiver is within range of a suitable transmission) or from the GPS network (via a rooftop GPS antenna).
Richard N Williams is a technical author and a specialist in the telecommunications and network time synchronisation industry helping to develop dedicated NTP clocks. Please visit us for more information about NTP or other network time server solutions.
Reuters - Researchers have discovered that honey bees can count to four, a report said here on Sunday.Game testers have this crazy notion that you can earn money testing video games without even leaving your house. This can be understandable due to the fact that every piece of information available to aspiring video game testers is just a bunch of lies and scams. That's right, this way of thinking has been brought about by lies. As a tester, you do not work at your own house.
So there's a shocking fact, you don't work at home. Testers actually have to go to a company associated building and test out the games there. They might let you have the game when they're done testing it, but you won't be able to take it home. The only times I've ever seen a video game tester get to take home work is when they're sick for more than months and the companies set them up themselves. So then, why do companies have their video game testers come to them?
Gaming companies are tremendously smart, and so they take the most slightest precautions so as to not lose tons of money. So if you wish to become a tester, than you should know that you won't be testing the games in your home.

AP - Gov. Sarah Palin's signature accomplishment - a contract to build a 1,715-mile pipeline to bring natural gas from Alaska to the Lower 48 - emerged from a flawed bidding process that narrowed the field to a company with ties to her administration, an Associated Press investigation shows.
Believe it or not, one of the hottest markets for video games is not teens or young men, its us retirees!
Who would have thought that active adults would be participants in the video game revolution...? One of the growth areas in video gaming is what they call casual games, i.e. PC-based games that we non-gamers can pick up in just minutes and play with the simplest equipment.
The emphasis in casual gaming is on fun, rather than realistic, graphics. As opposed to violence, casual games are family friendly. Some are old favorites like Pac Man and poker. Games previously played with pencil and paper like Soduku are online now, and there are plenty of new strategy and mystery games geared towards us.
Broadband internet makes it possible to have a great gaming experience online. You can buy a game online for about $20. Often you can try before you buy. You can also visit the portals such as Yahoo Games, pogo.com, MSN Games and WildTangent for a wide variety of casual games. Look for new things to come from breakthrough sights like iWin.com, and MostFun.com.
If youd like to combine a little exercise with your gaming, invest in a Nintendo Wii. Youll need a console but can get a nice little workout from Nintendos sports games. Its a great activity for groups of friends and family get-togethers. Next thing you know theyll be putting skateboard parks in retirement communities. After all, were young at heart!

AP - The bailout is now the hottest lobbying game in town.
Science and technology provide many societal benefits, such as the enhancement of economic growth or quality of life. They also can produce negative, unintended consequences. Most societies promote science and technology, but this can be costly. Establishment of IPRs that protect new works and give innovators the right to profit from their creations provides incentives for expensive innovation without the need for direct government subsidies (Posner 2004). At the same time, IPRs may maintain or aggravate wealth inequities.
Rights have little meaning unless they can be enforced and modern technology has made IPRs enforcement increasingly difficult. Photocopiers make it possible for anyone with access to a machine to reproduce works entitled to copyright protection and the Internet allows anyone to make literary or musical works available to the world.
Science and technology challenge intellectual property systems, particularly patent laws. New fields such as information technology and genetic engineering force courts to decide how to apply laws made before such technologies were contemplated. As knowledge itself becomes more valuable, people and institutions seek additional protection for control of the knowledge and its profits. At the same time, society has an increasing need for access to some kinds of knowledge and protection from the use of others.
Abstract ideas cannot be patented but their applications can qualify for patent protection. For example, "Einstein could not patent his celebrated law that E MC2; nor could Newton have patented the law of gravity. Such discoveries are 'manifestations of Nature, free to all men and reserved exclusively to none."' (Diamond v. Chakrabarty, p. 309, quoting Funk Brothers Seed Co. v. Kalo Inoculant Co., 333 U.S. 127, 130, 1948). General ideas remain in the public domain but their applications may be privatized through the patenting process.
Biotechnology, perhaps more than any other field, has challenged courts and lawmakers to reconsider intellectual property laws. In 1972 Ananda Chakrabarty, a microbiologist, sought a U.S. patent for a genetically engineered bacterium. The U.S. Patent Office denied the application because bacteria are products of nature, and living things cannot be patented under U.S. law. The case was appealed and eventually reached the U.S. Supreme Court. The Court restated the principle that natural phenomena cannot be patented, but found that Chakrabarty's bacterium was "a product of human ingenuity," and therefore was patentable under U.S. law.
So many biotechnology patents have been issued for such small innovations that some fear the creation of a tragedy of the anti-commons in which new innovations involve so many existing patents that innovation is discouraged. At least one study has found the anti-commons is not yet a significant deterrent to innovation, but that the situation should be monitored.
IPRs can be attached to writings or products regarded as dangerous or immoral, and IPRs tend to legitimize such works by implying social approval. Societies must decide whether to provide protection for harmful or otherwise objectionable work. New technologies, particularly those that create or replicate life, often trigger debate over whether the work should be done at all, much less be protected by law. IPRs also establish ownership of particular innovations, which may help to determine liability if a product causes harm. This raises questions of whether innovators should be held responsible for their products, particularly when the products are used in unintended ways.
Public funding for science and technology further complicate intellectual property issues. Who should benefit from works developed under public funding, the creator or the public? What balance of public/private benefits best serves societal goals?
Academics build their reputations by producing intellectual works. They seek recognition for their accomplishments, control over any economic benefits, and protection against plagiarism. IPRs promote release of information to the public by assuring the author of protection for the work, even after it is made public. IPRs protect authors from possible appropriation of ideas by others, including peer reviewers, before the work has actually been published.
Ownership can be a major IPRs issue. Who owns the product of collaborative work? At what point does a contribution by a supervisor, graduate student, or coworker deserve coauthorship? When the creator works for a corporation or a university, does ownership lie with the creator or the institution? What about funding agencies? In many cases, ownership or authorship is established by disciplinary customs or by agreements among the parties (Kennedy 1997).
Plagiarism is professionally unacceptable and sometimes illegal, but timing is critical to determining whether plagiarism has occurred. According to Donald Kennedy, "To take someone else's idea and use it before it has been placed in the public domain is a form of theft ... [t]o make further use of someone else's idea after it has been published is scholarship" (1997, p. 212). Of course attribution is critical even, or especially, in scholarship, whether or not a work is protected.

Using the Physical World as a Game Board: This is not a Kinky game! SMS stands for Short Message Service.
Just like our last article, this can be fun for teens and adults. You just have to do it on a different scale.
Pick a location approximately 4 square city blocks of a favorite area where your teen group or friends like to be. Spend an afternoon picking locations from that area and creating hints that can be text paged easily. Pick at least ten locations if not more and three to five hints for each location. Put the hints in order of hardest to figure out to the simplest, which will almost tell them where it is.
You can mix the Location Hunt game with a Scavenger Hunt! Once they find the correct location they now have to find something else at that location. Either physically getting something to bring back, taking a digital photo or taking a video to bring back as proof. And this can make for a fun experience at the end of the game when everyone involved shows back up at the starting point. The best way to play it is only send one hint at a time, this way they don't know the next location or what they are supposed to do when they get there. You can give a list out at the beginning of the game, but there is a little more mystery if they have no way to plan ahead.
If you have 15 or more people, set them up in groups. Only one page to one of the phones in each group. Send the groups in different directions, i.e.: One group might start with hint number 10, another group starts at hint 7, and so on. If everyone starts at 1 and goes straight through, they will end up following each other. This only keeps it fair. And if you have one location that's hard to find, and you give the first group that looks for it the easiest hint, when the next group is trying to find that location, you must give them the easiest from the beginning. That's really the only way to keep it fair.
You need to come up with a small prize for the first group to make it to the final location. For teens, you might come up with movie tickets for that night. For the adults, hmmm, a free round at the final location would be nice! Just about anything will do, it will give them something to fight for.
Depending on the age and ability of the individuals, they may begin to getting tired, if so you can always skip to the last location where the prize might be or just end the game when they find the next location. You might want to be ready with as many locations as you can think of. You can always use them on the next hunt.

Let me ask you a question: How much is your computer worth when you or your employees are sitting in front of it? Now, how much is that same computer worth when you or your employees aren't sitting in front of it?
When you're out of the office and that potiential client calls, do you have to tell them that you will get in touch with them when you return to the office? Is that potiential client calling your competition in the mean time to see if they get a better response? What if you could have all your important files with you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Hanging on your belt or sitting in your purse, and it wouldn't weigh too much more than the cell phone you are currently carrying.

AP - It was the cradle of Jennifer Hudson's greatest triumphs. It's now the scene of her darkest hour.
This is a question I have been asked over and over again. It`s quite simple to answer, too. I chat! That is basically all I do in my pursuit for getting contacts. I find people via chats, be it chat downloads, yahoo, get paid chats, msn messenger, any of them.
It`s personal, it`s friendly, people get to know each other so much better than through emails. I love to chat with other online marketers. It`s great for sharing hints, tips, ideas and information. Some of the people you meet seem to know so much more than you, and if you take the time, you can really learn a lot just by listening.
You can turn your contacts into joint venture partners, downline members, prospects etc. and it`s all mutual. My ezine came about through chat, just by listening to the wants and needs of other entrepreneurs like myself. I listened, and worked from what I heard. I`ve seen people start joint ventures, programs of their own and all sorts of good stuff, just through making chat friends. It is REALLY worth trying for yourself.
Sure, carry on with whatever promotional methods you are using right now, but try chatting with others on a personal level, find out what`s working for them and what`s not. You`ll be surprised by the results. I, personally, have found that I get much better results via chats than any other form of free advertising I`ve tried, and believe me, I`ve tried tons in my almost 4 years online.
Just remember to always be polite, never hype. Be honest, and most of all: Be Yourself. But anyway, in case you DO want to try your hand at chat, here`s a quick crash-course in chat terminology:

LiveScience.com - A smelly rotten-egg gas in farts controls blood pressure in mice, a new study finds. The unpleasant aroma of the gas, called hydrogen sulfide (H2S), can be a little too familiar, as it is expelled by bacteria living in the human colon and eventually makes its way, well, out. The new research found that cells lining mice's blood vessels naturally make the gas and this action can help keep the rodents' blood pressure low by relaxing the blood vessels to prevent hypertension (high blood pressure). ...Step One: Be Proactive!
You won't land any video game tester jobs if you just sit around and wait for a "Game Testers Wanted" ad to appear in the newspaper. It won't happen. So instead of sitting back and waiting for a miracle to occur, just get out there and find the perfect video game testing job for you.
Head straight to the game companies and developers and apply for testing jobs. Since they aren't looking for you, the only logical step is to actively search for them. Once you find them (which shouldn't take too long), apply for a game tester position with them and then repeat the process for as many different companies as humanly possible.
On your application/resume, brag about all of your video game achievements, such as the consoles you own, the games you've played, the games you own, the MMORPGs you are apart of, and anything else that shows how much experience you have with video games. And if you want to help your cause even further, create a website/blog that talks about video games, gives reviews, previews, cheats, hints, tips, etc.
You have to remember that experience and professionalism count for a lot in this industry. Therefore, the more experience you have and the more professional you are, the better your chances are for getting a video game tester job.
Step Two: Step Out of Fairy Tale Land and Into Reality
You have to realize that video game testing is a job. Yes, it's a really fun job, but it is still a job nonetheless. This means that you have to treat it as such and take every part of it seriously. Don't merely sit down and play the game to have a good time. Sit down and play the game so that you can collect a paycheck when you're through.
Many "wanna-be" testers believe that being a professional video game tester is a "no work, all play" type of career. Honestly, they couldn't be more wrong. Although there aren't huge amounts of work that a game tester must wade through, there are still a few things that he/she has to complete. For instance, filling out reports. Surprised? Well, most aspiring young testers are when they hear that there is actual work involved with video game testing.
Contrary to what you may have thought, you won't be simply playing games and giving your opinion on whether they are good or not. You will actually be testing them. You will play through a game, find any bugs or glitches, and then fill out reports on any problems that you come across. This is to help the developers and programmers locate and fix those problems. You don't have to be an English professor or a college graduate to write bug reports, but you will have to have basic writing skills. Aside from the reports, you will also be required to fill out numerous questionnaires; which are typically opinion based.
As soon as you accept the fact that you'll be doing actual work as a video game tester, you will have much more success finding testing jobs.
These Two Steps are More Than Enough To Get You Started On The Right Path. However, If You Want to Jump Start Your Video Game Testing Career and Catapult Yourself Miles Ahead of the Competition, You Should Make Time To Read Steps 3, 4, & 5. They Should Help Fill in the Rest of the Blanks and Allow You Get Your First Game Tester Job Within Weeks. Click Here To Read Steps 3, 4, & 5
If you want to Skip the Research, Dodge All the Trial & Error, and Avoid All of the Painstaking Job Searching, Then You Need To Check Out This Website It has all of the crucial information needed to start a successful career as a Professional Video Game Tester

AP - The bailout is now the hottest lobbying game in town.
The "Young Giant" is one of the many strange and significant fairy tales that never became popular. It begins as many fairy tales do, with a statement that it most certainly had not happening recently. The farmer of the tale has a child who is a thumbling. It is interesting to note how many people of the past would commonly have thumblings within stories, such characters could indicate and awareness of the events occurring to them and what these meant.
From about 900 AD to 1200 AD people in Europe where about as tall as they are today, then over time their average height began to drop. It is interesting to note how important nutrition is to height, and how the presence of a thumbling does seem to indicate poverty in folktales. At the same time of course making the main character a thumbling is in part to make their feats all the more significant, and in the case of this story that feat is the growing of the thumbling into a giant. For as the thumbling is in the field with his father giant comes and tales him away. This female giant then acts as a mother to the thumbling nursing him for years and making him grow and grow. After the now young giant has grown for a while his new mother takes him into the woods and has him rip up a sapling, however this does not satisfy the giantess who decides that the young giant needs to be nursed some more to get stronger. Three times the giant tears up trees in the forest before his new mother is satisfied, when he rips up the largest oak tree in the forest and snaps in half.
After pleasing his adoptive mother with his strength he goes back to his parents, who at first are afraid of him, denying that he is their son. He however does convince them of their relationship, after which he plows everything for them without the aid of horses, and then carries the horse's home. The son asks his father for a staff, and his father then tries his best to provide one, however the young giant breaks each staff given to him by his father. Realizing that his father can no longer provide for him the young giant leaves home.
It is interesting to note that when he was a thumbling all he wanted to do was help his father, when he grew he did great work for a brief period but left his parents as they could no longer help him. Certainly in order for the Age of Exploration and the Industrial Era's to occur children did have to start leaving their parents in mass rather then staying at home to help them. As one might anticipate from such an event the young giant goes to find a smith, offering to work for the smith in return for the right to hit him. The smith being greedy agrees to these terms. The giant however cannot do much good at the forge for he is too strong, so after providing a hit he takes a rod of metal as his staff and leaves.
The Giant then offers to work for a bailiff in return for the right to hit the bailiff after a year. The Bali also being greedy agrees to this. After this the giant performs his duties well; however he hinders the other workers in secret to make himself look better. He sleeps in and in truth the work itself is not that hard for him due to his big size, this is hardly the work ethic people might associate with peasants and others of the Pre-Victorian eras. This does seem to indicate a certain amount of desire to be a lazier, and to look better then was actually possible. Further as the Young Giant ends the tale by hitting both the bailiff and his wife, sending them soaring through the air for nearly forever, there seems at all times to be some desire to hit those who are in charge especially should such people be greedy. In many ways the aspects of this story, the funny way in which the giant works, and the bosses are greedy and punished for it makes it an equivalent to a modern day office comedy. While such comedies cannot be taken completely seriously they do strike on a certain amount of truth with regards to the feelings towards the social structure of the time.

AP - Gov. Sarah Palin's signature accomplishment - a contract to build a 1,715-mile pipeline to bring natural gas from Alaska to the Lower 48 - emerged from a flawed bidding process that narrowed the field to a company with ties to her administration, an Associated Press investigation shows.
Board games can be used for a number of educational purposes, as they have proven to help stimulate the minds of children in a fun, informative way. Learning things like multiplication tables, long division, or even more basic tasks like simple addition and subtraction can be difficult for young children, usually depending on their age and the amount of attention they have received on the object. It has also been long proven that most children have a better time learning skills when they are presented in a fun, interactive format, giving educational math board games a great platform on which to make their stand.
Math Smart is one such board game which helps children to easily begin to master the skills of basic math. The game plays out across a table, much like dominoes. There are 100 durable cards in each set of the game, which come in editions for each basic math skill. Some set focus on addition, while others help players learn their subtraction, multiplication, and division skills. The easy format helps any player to adapt quickly to the game and with a fun, slightly competitive environment, the learning aspect of the game may even go entirely unnoticed!
Another popular game, Goose Egg, can help children learn how to complete their math skills more quickly. Coming with three 10-sided dice, answer boards, a timer, and chips, players will need to roll the dice, figure out the multiplications between the numbers, and quickly cover up the correct answer on their answer sheets, all within a 30 second time frame! This teaches children to think quickly, trying to encourage them to learn how to complete the skills within a short time frame. However, players must be careful about the dice they roll, for if they end up with 3 zeros in any turn, they have received a goose egg and may be out of the game. This game is incredibly popular, as it encourages quick thinking in an easy to learn, fun environment, and many children have greatly benefited from playing with it.
Totally Tut is a great example of a game that gives children the chance to learn a number of basic math skills and the order of operations potentially without them even realizing it. Racing across a board made of different pyramids, the players try to correctly solve math puzzles that have been presented to them. When the problem is correctly solved, that player gains a piece which will help them to build their own pyramid. However, the game is not as simple as just building pyramids by solving problems, for other players have the chance to either steal or swap pyramid tiles, helping to complete their own and ruin another!
This game raises the level of competition, making the game a high-paced, harrowing experience for any players participating. With such an exciting environment provided by the game, it is no wonder that all of these educational board games help players to learn their techniques so quickly. Teaching math to young children has never been easier or more fun!

With the turn of the century, the means of entertainment and relaxation have been revolutionized. Video games, PC games, and console games have grown greatly in popularity. Better gaming systems, advanced micro-chips, and video enhancement and display cards clearly indicate the improving game designs, mind blowing game ideas, and spectacular levels of detail. Casual and hardcore gamers look for games that completely mesmerize them and draw them deeper into the scenario of the game. Video gaming has become so popular that organizations have actually started offering money to video gamers.
A large number of hardware companies, software developers, and game promoters employ hardcore gamers having excellent skill in the games. These gamers are commonly referred to as Pro-gamers. Pro-gamers and even teams are employed on a contract basis to represent the employer at large gaming events and tournaments. AP - Iraq's largest Sunni party said Saturday that it has suspended official contacts with American military personnel and civilians after the killing of a man near Fallujah.
I enjoy playing computer games and video games, although I am not a teenager, and even further from being a child - yet according to many people, I am highly likely to be a violent, irresponsible, society hating thug with no concern for the welfare of other people or the environment, and with a high chance of ending up either dead or in jail. Surprisingly, I am none of the above, and am actually a perfectly sane, perfectly sociable, intelligent professional who does a great deal for charity and has a family and two dogs. Statistics - they're always guaranteed to be wrong 67% of the time. Like that one.
The thing is, it is very easy for people to jump on to a popular bandwagon and assume that anyone who has a fascination with, or simple enjoyment of, computer games or video games which involve one character or characters killing or conquering another, must have an unhealthy tendency towards violence and that this will become so ingrained within their psyche that, sooner or later, they're going to lurch down the street armed with a machete, an evil grin and a blood stained hooded anorak.
In fact, not only is violent crime decreasing quite considerably and quite quickly, but at the same time, the number of video games available, and the number being bought and presumably played, is increasing. How does that work out then? If the use of the games is on the increase, it would follow, according to popular assumption and argument, that violent crime should also increase.
The problem is, that time and again it has been shown that playing video games or computer games does no more harm to you than watching television or reading books. The real issues and problems with any social makeup or lack of morals lie with the upbringing of a child, with the family and its own morals and consistencies. Computer games cannot be blamed for society's general lack of understanding of how to tackle the issue of crime.
Granted, there are some very violent games on the market today, and personally, I tend not to favor them as much, and in most cases these games have age restrictions on them. Although this is supposed to prevent children from seeing or playing these games, there is no such check carried out if bought online, second hand, passed down from an older sibling or friend, and even many parents don't check the labels in the first place.
As with anything in life, computer and video games have to be used in moderation, and anyone who becomes unhealthily absorbed or obsessed with a game is doing no good to themselves in any case - such an addiction needs to be identified and dealt with early. But just because some children enjoy spending an hour or so each day pretending to be an orc, or a secret agent, or a military leader, there is no reason to assume that they will eventually walk down the high street, completely brainwashed into believing that they really are orcs and that they need to purge the high street of humans. At least, if they do have those thoughts, the cause of the problem lies a lot deeper than in a video game.

McClatchy Newspapers - John McCain can't get enough of the average Joes. He now refers to Democratic vice presidential nominee as "Joe the Biden." He introduces folks by calling them "Gary the Dentist" or "Bob the Boat Builder."In relation to Japan's plight to seeking trim waists, there is seemingly an unnoticeable duel going on between the chubby Japanese and the video game makers. According to Japanator, it was noted that while Japanese eating habits are turning unhealthy, exemplified for instance by the emergence of McDonald's Mega Mac and Mega Teriyaki (about 900+ calories), there is a business crocodile with its mouth gaping for the money from the individuals soon to opt for quick solutions to their expanding waistlines - the video games makers like Konami and Nintendo. The two video game giants are making waves with their Dance Dance Revolution series as physical education products and wand waggling games and Wii Fit respectively.
The law requires that Japanese companies and local governments alike must measure the waistlines of all its employees and family members over the age of 40, and if the men exceed the waistline of 33.5 inches and women past 35.5 inches, they will be considered overweight. There will be a fine for every inch over the allowable. With the fear of losing their jobs, working individuals will have the high tendency to quickly jump for a Wii Fit.
This law may sound strange but it is part of Japan's efforts in keeping its people healthy and in good shape. By the next four (4) years, Japan is targeting to reduce its overweight population by 10%.
But I think, this issue can be addressed like that of cutting the trees by the roots. Why not look into the foods chains too?
Now I remember a Philippine National Police program spearheaded by Gen. Panfilo Lacson in the year 2000. Lacson wanted the police officers with waistlines measuring more than 86 cm (about 34 inches) or so dismissed if they don't get shaped up. "Shape up or ship out" was Lacson's ultimatum. This thing went with a 6-month fitness program for overweight and unfit officers to ensure they are able to perform their duties - a prelude to a series of moves by the force to weed out unfit personnel.
There were varied reactions to this from different sectors. I wonder what happened next.

AP - A security guard working for the international shipping company DHL opened fire Saturday, killing the company's country director and his deputy before turning the gun on himself, officials said.
QinetiQ Group PLC, a British defense technology company, claimed on Sunday, August 24, that its ultra lightweight plane has broken the world record for the longest lasting unmanned flight.
According to QinetiQ, the aircraft, which is called the Zephyr, flew for 83 hours and 37 minutes straight. That is more than twice the official world record set by Northrop Grumman's Global Hawk back in 2001. It is also longer than the Zephyr's accomplishment last year, which was 54 hours of continuous flight.
QinetiQ, however, will not be celebrating anytime soon. The reported flight time of the Zephyr may not get into record books, because it did not meet the criteria laid down by the world's air sports federation, which is the body responsible for measuring and verifying air and space records.
"We were concentrating more on the flight than the record," said QinetiQ spokesman Douglas Millard.
The Zephyr, which has potential in the fields of reconnaissance and communications, is built from carbon fiber and features paper thin solar panels. It weighs 30 kilograms (66 pounds) and was launched by hand on July 28 in the Arizona desert in the United States. The aircraft was flown by autopilot and via satellite to an altitude of over 18,000 meters (60,000 feet), QinetiQ said.
During the day, the ultra lightweight was powered by the sun. At night, it relied on its rechargeable lithium-sulphur batteries.
QinetiQ stated that the Zephyr's more than three-day flight was witnessed by US and British defense officials. Still, it does not change the fact that the record is likely to remain unofficial.

The new research found that cells lining mice's blood vessels naturally make the gas and this action can help keep the rodents' blood pressure low by relaxing the blood vessels to prevent hypertension (high blood pressure). ...I guess Crazy Taxi these days would now be classed as a retro game, even though this is an updated package. The Crazy Taxi PSP version is in fact a compilation of Crazy Taxi 1 and 2 with a few extras, titled Crazy Taxi - Fare Wars (for the PSP).
In its own right, it is true to say that this game is starting to show its age a bit. However, as a portable game, you could argue this is the sort of game that is best suited to play on the move, especially for short train, bus or car journeys...as long as you are not driving the car yourself!!
In case you are new to the concepts of Crazy Taxi, you basically have to make your way around San Francisco is one of 4 different cabs to pick up punters and take them to their desired destination. Ok, this would be pretty simple and boring if it wasn't for the insane time limit you have to do this in. Are you going to take the sensible route via the roads or are you going to drive straight through the park and then launch yourself 50 feet in the air over a Tram to get there?
Don't worry if you hit things because one of the elements that makes this fun is the fact that you seem to bounce off objects as if they were made of rubber. Of course, this can slow you down but as long as you are quick on the gas and make some timely manoeuvres, you should be able to make it in time.
However, things do seem to be made more difficult by the fact that the turning circle doesn't seem to be as tight as the original arcade version. Maybe because you don't have the luxury of a 'real' steering wheel in front of you to spin around.
As for handling in general, Crazy Taxi 1 within the package seems to behave better but in turn, you will find a bit more variety with the second instalment. Luckily you get both in the one package so you can decide which you prefer yourself.
There are also some mini games included which keeps the game going a bit longer even if you finish the main section of the games.
Crazy Taxi PSP will probably appeal most to those feeling nostalgic and want to relive their arcade days. Being slightly older myself, I get the same feeling when playing Outrun. If you're looking for a game where you can have short bursts of fun without frying your brain too much, then this could be the game for you.

You should basically know what the different types of Chess pieces are. They have generally become a well-known part of culture and anyone should be able to look at a Chessboard and recognize it for what it is. The King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook, and Pawn are all highly symbolized pieces which each have a special set of rules, moves, and uses. What many people do not realize, however, even if they have experience with the game, is exactly why those pieces are called the names they are. These Chess pieces did not originate as Kings, Queens, and the like, but simply found their most popular form in them.
The Chess pieces, when the game was originally conceived in India, were all based on war elements. Infantry and calvary, elephants and chariots were all represented by pieces much like Pawns, Knights, Bishops, and Rooks. These pieces played out the game, trying to gain dominance over the other player's army. As the game spread to Eastern Asia, the pieces changed somewhat but still kept a military theme. The most importance piece at this stage, instead of being called the King, was usually referred to as the General. Even when the game eventually moved to Europe, the game did not catch on until the pieces were redesigned with a court-like theme instead of the popular military one.
Pawns kept the idea of the infantry and grew to represent the peasants from a court. They were considered expendable pieces, as the entire game was built around protecting the court. During the phase of Medieval Chess, however, these pieces were given a little more substance, and each particular Pawn was generally given a name relating to a certain commoner's occupation. Some Pawns were considered to be city guards, farmers, merchants, doctors, and innkeepers. While these special ranks did not denote anything special upon the Pawns, it attempted to give a little more story to the game of Chess and make things a little more diverse.
The Rook was originally symbolizing of a chariot and the word itself sounds remarkably familiar to the Persian word for "chariot." These Persian war chariots were often heavily armored with fortified stone work, giving the Chess piece the image of a mobile building. The design eventually reshaped itself into a turret and the modern Rook was born. Knights are usually represented by horses and are rather straightforward in their history and appearance. They never have had drastic meaning changes or appearance.
Bishops seem to generate from the Staunton Chess set. They are given a tall hat, much like a Bishop's mitre. This form, however, also pays homage to the original form of the Bishop, with the traditional deep groove also symbolizing the tusks of the elephant that the piece initially represented. The Queen, however, has had the most transformation over time. Originally only being allowed to move one space diagonally and to make a jump like a Knight only once in a game, by 1600, the piece was given the powers it is granted today. Additionally, the King was changed from a General to keep with the modern court theme. Just as with a General leading a war, a country is powerless without its King, making it be the most important piece of a Chess game.

The Xbox 360 controller with a rapid fire mod is a "must have" for all serious gamers. This mod on either your wired or wireless controller will turn any weapon into an automatic when pressing the button to fire. On weapons that are already automatic in the game, you may not notice a significant difference in the firing but this mod will make your weapon more accurate, as it eliminates much of the recoil. It allows you to shoot weapons that require you to push the R Trigger over and over much faster than the average person. Annihilate your competition when you have a rapid fire controller for your Xbox 360. These controllers work with many of the hottest games right now such as Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Halo 2 & 3, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and any game where you need to shoot faster!
How do you get a controller with the rapid fire mod? Quite simply, if you are handy with electronics and are proficient in soldering, you can buy a kit and install the rapid fire mod yourself. It's a great way to pick up some extra cash by modding the controllers and selling to others who do not know how to do the mod themselves. The kits usually contain a pre-programmed microchip, a transistor, resistors, 2 buttons and wire. If you are not comfortable in doing this, there are many people who sell the Xbox 360 controllers that have the mod already installed for you or who will mod your controller for you.
There are differences in the rapid fire mods available. A dual rapid fire controller has a second button that controls the left trigger to be used with first person shooter games that have the ability to dual wield. This type of controller is also compatible with games that do not dual wield. Some modded controllers also include a speed control feature that you can use to adjust the speed of the controller to your liking. Most modded controllers also come with the rumble feature that you can feel in your hand while you're blasting away at your opponent. A single rapid fire controller only has one button located on the bottom right side of the controller. If you want to shoot a gun with the rapid fire you would press and hold the button. If you want the gun to shoot normally you would pull the trigger.
A. J. Petersen offers information about rapid fire controllers, rapid fire mod kits and services at this website Xbox 360 Rapid Fire Controller Mods For Sale.

The wait is over! You can now download wii games online...this is a day that gamers have been waiting for over a year. Have you already found a place to download games for your wii? I would venture to say no...I have found the best places and wanted to tell anyone that would listen about them.
Nintendo definitely hit the jackpot with the wii. People were standing in line over the holiday season to be the first to get their hands on the console...some paid as much as a thousand dollars or more on sites like ebay just to have one under the tree Christmas morning.
You no longer have to be one of the people standing in line at your nearest walmart or other retail outlet to get games though...you can simply download them online. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when selecting the right sight to download wii games though.
The first thing you want to take into consideration is...is the site legal? Don't find yourself on the wrong site of the law for a few games. There are legal sites out there that offer the service which we will talk about a little bit later.
Another important thing to look out for...is the site clean? I'm talking about viruses. Downloading a file with a virus is not only harmful to your PC but, also remember that your wii console in itself is a computer and is vulnerable to the same malicious files that your personal computer is. You always want to download from a trusted source.
Lastly, I look for a large variety of games. Luckily, I have been able to find a site that gives access to just about every single game that has been released for the wii. It took a lot of research and some trial and error but, I was lucky enough to find exactly what I was looking for it a wii download site. There are a lot of sites out there...sadly, they do not all deliver what they promise.
If you are looking for a source to download wii games I would recommend that you check out my list of the best sites to DOWLOAD WII GAMES ONLINE

E! Online - UPDATE: Jennifer Hudson's publicist, Lisa Kasteler, has issued this statement:
The hot thing today is the PSP. If you don't have one, you may not understand why. If you do, you understand the draw of it. The PSP is a piece of equipment that goes far beyond a portable video game.
The games are on a small disk known as a UMD that can be carried around easily. There are also memory sticks that you can use to store games on. So, how do you download games onto your PSP from your computer?
Here is your guide:
When programmers design games specifically for the PSP, they are sometimes referred to as Homebrew Games. Some of these Homebrew Games are made for the PSP game console to mimic games made for other systems so you do not have to have every console made in order to play every game.
For example, a game that was made for Nintendo may be Homebrewed to play with your PSP console so you can have the fun of the Nintendo, but not the expense. This is just one of the many selling points for the PSP because you can download Homebrew PSP games from just about anywhere you look online.
To download a game on to PSP from the Internet, you will need a PSP memory stick with sufficient memory. It is advisable that the stick have at least 1GB of memory to accommodate graphic, sound and any personal settings. However, these cards can get expensive, so if you do not have one or do not have the money to buy one, a 256 MB stick will most likely work. If your stick is brand new, it will have to be formatted before downloading.
An important note: you will need your PSP Firmware version 1.5 or less. If you have a newer PSP you may have to downgrade.
It is quite simple to download games for PSP from the Internet to your PC , then move the files from your computer to the PSP itself. When you hook up the PSP to the PC via a USB cable, the PC will recognize it as a removable memory device. Then the computer will assign a drive; usually the f: drive; and then you can simply drag and drop your PSP game files to the memory stick.
After the games for the PSP are transferred to the memory stick, tell the computer you want to disconnect the PSP. Once the computer gives the 'all clear' you can safely remove the PSP.
The PSP's main menu will have a listing called GAME and press the Memory Stick option. After pressing X, a list is displayed of the games on your memory stick. If there is an error displayed, you might want to check the version of Firmware you are using.
Now that you know how to download games onto PSP ...go out there and give it a shot. This is a technique that has been used to download games onto PSP countless times.

Secondly, The Sundown Shootout is another recently introduced online arcade game packed with a lot of fun, outstanding animation, and heart-breaking excitement. The game is all about the challenge for being the best and the fastest gun around. Just simply firing with your gun is not enough in Sundown Shootout; all it requires for being successful is firing swiftly and accurately at your target. If you wish to gain triumph in this game, you then have to move out in the duels and shoot your opponent until his HP ( health points ) are reduced to zero. You can also earn some handsome money after defeating your opponent and can purchase guns and clothes with the money you earned. Additionally, you can also have fun by playing mini-games such as poker after you finish purchasing your desired items.
Do you want to give it a try?
Do you want to play the games described above? Well, try to reach the maximum score at Frankie The Fish game and also at Sundown Shootout.
AP - Seven Puget Sound killer whales are missing and presumed dead in what could be the biggest decline among the sound's orcas in nearly a decade, say scientists who carefully track the endangered animals.
Most of us have asked ourselves, "When can I purchase a Wii?" and have been met with mixed results. The fact is, the Wii is the most heavily sought after gaming console this generation. It turns out, there are several excellent services for the Wii that you can gain access to now.
The first service I will talk about is Wii Downloads Pro. Wii Downloads Pro allows you to download full Wii games to your Nintendo Wii, as well as the latest movies (some are even still in the theaters) and chart-topping music. These downloads are yours to keep and you gain unlimited access for a one time fee.
Other Features
Download Speeds
Although I haven't calculated the exact download speeds that Wii Downloads Pro offers, I have found that games, on average with a high-speed connection, can download in a few hours. Considering the size of the files being transferred, this is fairly impressive. For me, the speeds were faster than if I were to drive to my nearest game store to buy the game, plus I save all that money on gas.
Technical Support
All technical and general questions are usually answered within a couple of hours by the staff. This is much better than some of the competition, where some questions can remain unanswered for days.
Overall
This is a very impressive product that will keep you entertained for the rest of the time you have your Wii. You'll have complete access to the latest Wii games, movies (including HD formats), and music with your lifetime membership. This service is definitely a great value for your money.

Jirnik has been a happy Wii owner since November of 2006. Since then he has reviewed several Wii services as well as other products at his website, http://ruckusreviews.com
AP - Pakistan's army captured a key militant stronghold near the Afghan border, a breakthrough in a bloody push against the Taliban and al-Qaida that has claimed 95 civilian lives, the military said Saturday.
Guitar Hero is not about song lists, or storyline - it's about the gameplay. You can customise characters however and there is a huge amount of licensed items in the game which does stand out.
Guitar Hero is simply one of the most addictive and charming games of the year. It is just a fad, but the real guitar is an art, almost a way of life. Guitar Hero is a brand we all know and love, well established and now in its third main iteration. In fact is there anything that could make this air guitar lovers dream any better than it already is?
Guitar Hero is a terrific game, one that musical fans should not be without. If there is even a little rocker in you, you will want this game. It is entertainment only, not for showing off, although some people has forgotten that. There are people who don't have a social life, who just sits inside playing this game and putting their sessions up on YouTube. Guitar Hero is an entity of evil. It degrades the value of music.
Guitar hero is cool. I have never played but seen it being played and people were having fun. Guitar Hero is the gift of a great game and the gift of music. It is the gift of rocking your walls clean off your house. Guitar Hero is back - and in the finest tradition of rock flick Spinal Tap, everything in the game has been turned up to eleven.
Guitar Hero is easily as compelling as your more standard games types, like a good first-person shooter or platformer, and fast becomes the sort of game that pops into your head all the time. It's scary when you find yourself doing the hand motions as certain tracks pop up during a working day. Guitar hero is ripping off rockband SO hard. Is this even legal? Guitar Hero is his hobby, and he is a kid.
Guitar Hero is not a pathetic digital fair trade of guitar playing, it's a Fun Game. It is probably my favorite game of all time, so this is extremely exciting news for me. I'm very curious how they are going to implement everything. Guitar Hero is a game that's fun solo, but also another great party piece. If you want to feel like you're in Spinal Tap in front of friends.
Finally, a winner emerged (by only 8,000 points!) and his buddies stormed the stage and hoisted him onto their shoulders. With the final score nearing 300,000 points, we were all pretty quickly humbled. Finally, Battle is the ultimate head-on competition. Like Pro Face-Off, you play at the same time, but with Battle, as you play well, you earn power-ups that you can use to disrupt, sabotage, and frustrate your opponent.
Games that feature caricatures of celebrity artists, such as Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, include the ability to unlock those artists as playable characters. Guitar Hero World Tour will introduce the ability for players to create their own characters. Game play begins as soon as you see the arrows come toward you on the screen. There is a control line where, when the arrows meet it, you press the corresponding colored button on the neck of the guitar controller. Gameplay is affected by the amount you snort, with a moderate amount giving you extra energy and inspiration, while too much will cause you to lose control, and possibly OD.
GameSpot released an April Fools article in 2006 announcing "cowbell Hero" as a successor to the first game. Games that feature caricatures of celebrity artists, such as Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith include the ability to unlock those artists as playable characters.
Gamers lucky enough to have a Nintendo Wii have to miss out on the "Rock Band" experience as it is not available for the Wii. Neither of the games are available for play on regular Xbox or Nintendo GameCube. Game Stooge sounds like the spoiled brat who cries to his mommy every time he doesn't get his way.
Players will be able to affect their character's poise, clothing, tattoos, makeup, and age. Selected characters from previous Guitar Hero games will also be available as starting templates for creating a rocker. Players use the Guitar Grip, which mimics a guitar fret board, and the Guitar Hero pick-stylus on the touch screen to strum their favourite tunes and create their rock 'n' roll legacy in career mode. Fans can also join together to play co-op mode using a local wireless connection, or battle each other in a Guitar Duel using new Battle Items unique to Nintendo DS. Players also can autograph a virtual fan's T-shirt using the stylus and the touch screen or use the wireless capabilities of the DS to play in cooperative or competition modes.
