If you are looking to buy an Microsoft Xbox 360 but you don't want to spend a lot of money, you might want to consider purchasing a refurbished Xbox 360. These consoles have been inspected by a licensed professional and are guaranteed to work. They also come with a three month warranty which can usually be extended for an extra fee. If you're unsure of what type of 360 to purchase, take a look at the following features of each of the three systems. This will help you make your decision.
Xbox 360 Arcade - This version is the cheapest version of the three. It doesn't come with a hard drive attached, but rather a 256MB memory card. It also comes with five games loaded onto the memory card, from the Xbox LIVE arcade. This system is probably best for gamers who play casual games, or aren't looking to have a huge game collection. It is the standard white color and includes such accessories as a wireless controller and headset.
Xbox 360 Premium - This version of the console is what most gamers end up getting. It includes a 20GB hard drive which is great for many saved games, but isn't quite enough space to store movies, music, and game demos you can download from the Marketplace. It also comes in the standard white and features the same accessories as the Xbox 360 Arcade edition.
Xbox 360 Elite - The elite edition of the Xbox 360 is designed for the most hardcore gamer. It features a 120GB hard drive which is more than enough space for any gamer to store saved games, movies, music, and game demos which have been downloaded. You'll have plenty of room to expand with this system. It features a shiny black finish along with a controller of the same color. It also features a headset and some boxes even include a free trial subscription to Xbox LIVE.

Astro Avenger 2 is the sequel to the 3D space shooter from Sahmon Games. In this arcade installment, you take the role of a lone space craft off to fend aliens in a quest to vanquish their big bad mother ship. And to do just that, you seriously need some firepower, right? Well, fortunately, that's what you will get.
The objective of the game is for you to use your mouse buttons to fire lasers and shoot rockets at incoming enemy fleets. Use your mouse also to maneuver your space craft and evade enemy artillery. What I liked about the controls is how they are very responsive to your every move, and with that, comes easy evasion on many of the incoming attacks.
While most of the time, you'll be shooting and evading, you'll also have to collect power-ups from time to time too. Power-ups will greatly increase your chances for survival and will sometimes even add plasma to your inventory. Basically, plasma is the money currency in the game, and you must collect plasma in order to upgrade your ship and weapons, or buy rockets and probes - little unmanned ships that aid you in battle.
Astro Avenger 2 is a fun game with great production values as you may see from the graphics and in-game music. Besides this, the game is very much challenging too since when I talk about hordes of enemies; you'll definitely encounter swarms and swarms of them flying towards you. Adding up the fact that you'll need to balance your energy use whenever using lasers, this game is definitely much more dynamic than your usual shoot-em-up.
But still, the game is still like any arcade shoot-em-up so besides from the awesome 3D graphics and creative boss battles, you will not encounter additional features or mini-games to play. That's fine by me though, because honestly, I play this game with the idea of blasting some space metal anyway, and in this criterion, the game successfully delivers.

Reuters - Timothy Geithner, the president of the New York Federal Reserve Bank, is expected to be tapped by President-elect Barack Obama to be the next secretary of the U.S. Treasury, NBC News and the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.
Wouldn't it be great if we could all just stop spending hundreds of dollar's on our home computer's, making sure they are upgraded all of the time to continue playing the next best games? I think it would be great. One thing that's awesome about having a console is that you are set in the gaming world for the next couple of years until the new console's hit the market. When is that going to be? Who knows. Probably not for some time. It would be pretty nice to be able to get your hands on some of the new bad boys that are out right now. So here's my question to you. How would you like to win an Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii?
Okay so let's take a look at the Nintendo Wii for a moment here. This console has gotten a lot of buzz and alot of it has come down to the fact of how interactive the console is for it's users. Look at what you can purchase for it the next time you are in any type of store that has games. The sports pack, do you like sword fighting games? Why not pick up a sword, that looks like one from Star Wars. Or Maybe you like first person shooters? Well they have a gun for those now too. Kids and Adults alike LOVE this console, and we ask you, can we easily walk into any store and purchase one? Not so much.
So maybe, just maybe the Wii isn't your thing. Okay, so let's take a look at the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Arguarbily the two largest console's ever. These two big boys have been fighting against each other for years. Whose better? Well let's just leave that question up to each gamer. Everything about these console's are fantastic, the power of them, the graphics you get out of them. Everything. However one thing that's not fantastic is the price of these consoles. I'm not sure about all of you, but how many kids can easily say that they can walk into any store and easily pick up one of these big guys that can cost anywhere from $400-$700? Not many. That's why it would be pretty nice to win an Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii. Right?
Each console is great in their own right. The Wii is fun and exciting, just for how interactive it is for the user's. Kids love the console and adults do too. The Xbox 360 and the PS3 are also great. Games that aren't available for the Wii can be found on these console's and gamers love them. Their graphics are just simply amazing. Until the new next gen console's come out, these are the top three that can be used today. So how would you like the choice of one of them? Now's your chance to win an Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii.

AP - A federal judge on Thursday ordered the release of five Algerians held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and the continued detention of a sixth in a major blow to the Bush administration's strategy to keep terror suspects locked up without charges.
Warhammer has been around a long time - well, for some of us it seems like just yesterday we were rolling dice and painting pewter miniatures. But the game itself has survived the technological advances and is recreating itself again - this time as Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.
Warhammer Online is the newest generation of massively multiplayer online roleplaying games and allows players to not only battle the environment, but also other players in realm versus realm combat. The entire game is centered around the conflict between the three good races and the three evil races, the forces of Order and the forces of Destruction.
The Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning beta is entering its open beta phase on September 7th. The game is going to be fully released on September 18th. If you are interested in playing the game or just trying it out, you need to get a copy of the preorder and join the open beta.
You can purchase the preorder in two different types and in two different forms. You can buy just the preorder, which does not include the game itself and is usually about $10US. The preorder only allows you to join beta but once the game goes live you will have to purchase the actual game to keep playing. Or you can purchase the preorder that includes the game for around $50US. This copy is the most economical package and is the most common type of preorder you will find available. Both types of preorders are available either via digital download or retail versions on DvD. The download took me about 24 hours to download, but it saved me a trip to the store.
No matter how you get your hands on the game, Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning will be the next best thing in MMORPGs and I can't wait for September 18th. See ya in game!
