Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been out for a few days and after having played it plenty of times, I'd have to say this is the best Super Smash Bros. yet. However, that doesn't mean everything feels improved over previous versions but almost everything is. I'm referring to the characters especially. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way about the characters they like to use. There is always some kind of change to your favorite character going from one installment to the next. It may be better and it may be worse.
One of my favorite characters from previous installments is Donkey Kong. He seems slower now and less effective than before. On the other hand, his charged up power punch can be released sooner like how it was in N64. Mario's water spraying fludd pack also seems useless to me for now until I figure out how to use it better. Bowser is now faster than in Melee and is actually fun to use. I'm sure there are a lot of character changes that you like or dislike, but I think we just have to get used to them again and we'll discover the new advantages that were added to each character.
A gameplay change that affected me in a major way is the lack of the ability to easily drop down from a platform while running. I enjoyed using this ability to drop down real quick to deceive the opponent into believing that I'm actually going down, but then I'll jump back up and attack. Throws are not as strong as before, so the focus wouldn't be on trying to grab all the time like I did with Melee. These changes may be to balance gameplay, but I sure do miss them.
There are now tons of items you can use to your advantage. We all know about the final smash ball that gives you a tremendous advantage over your opponents. Depending on who you use, the final smash can be fatal. Link can take care of you quickly if you get caught in his triforce attack. The fun part is when everyone is fighting for the ball and you are the one that gets it. If someone else gets it though, it's cheating and not so fun. There is also a clock that slows down time, an assist trophy that spawns a helper to fight for you and a whole lot more items to affect gameplay.
Characters are abundant now so you can always find someone you like to play as. There are many to choose from in the beginning and many to unlock. The new characters are balanced and fit well into the game and the veteran fighters went through some changes for better or worse like I mentioned. Each character is different and have their ups and downs. You'll have to get used to the characters' moves and find out the advantages and disadvantages of each move so you'll know when to execute and when and what your opponent will execute.
The graphics are better of course, but not by much. Sometimes the game will even remind you of Melee especially if you play in a Melee level. The stages and the characters are more detailed and you'll see cool effects that's not possible in Gamecube during a final smash. Super Smash Bros. Brawl will definitely remind you of Melee, but there are enough changes and enhancements in graphics and gameplay that you'll know you're playing Brawl.
Multiplayer is a feature that wasn't available in previous Smash Bros versions and is a blast to play in Brawl. You can now test your skills against the world and see how good you really are. There are plenty of good players out there that can humble you. You can easily find friend codes on the internet if you don't have many friends. Lag can sometimes be a problem when someone has a slow connection and that's when you're not able to play at your best. The positive is that if you lose, you can blame the lag.
Besides playing with your friends through friend codes, you can also let the system search out a match for you. This is great for people with no friends or for older folks who are too embarrassed to ask friends for friend codes. One feature I wish they would have added is online tournaments. This feature would make it easier for friends to set up tournaments without leaving their homes. Tournament is available in offline mode however, but who goes out these days when you can easily communicate over the internet? I'm joking, but tournament on Nintendo WFC would be icing on the cake.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a great game and one of the best on the Wii. It can be a great party game or even to play alone with all the unlockables and Nintendo WFC. It's not a dramatic upgrade over Melee but it's enough to warrant a purchase. The Nintendo WiFi mode alone automatically makes this game a must have. Add in all the cool new characters, levels and items, plus enhanced graphics and this game will be a solid fighter that will last for several years just like the previous Super Smash Bros. games. Melee was already great and you can't go wrong building on that and you can't go wrong buying Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

The world has seen wide changes in gaming for the last 20 years. As computer has entered into almost every house, people are becoming engaged in playing computer games like never before. Earlier, we find the video game consoles were too difficult to handle and playing a game was no exception. After carefully researching the market, Sony released their first playing theme - the Playstation I. After that several modification and revisions took place and the latest craze is Playstation Portable, popularly known as PSP.
The total gaming system came into the hands of the player and consoles were designed in such a way that PSP became a delight to the gaming freak. Needless to say, many gaming companies started making PSP games including Sony. As PSP was a huge success, gaming programs turned out to be too costly. Therefore, all the companies are marketing their gaming programs with a demo version to give the people some taste of the real game. It's definitely not a bad idea at all, having an experience how the original game will be.
The PSP demos contain a part of the original full version game. Generally the initial levels are included. If you like gaming and played some PSP games, you must be aware that full version games will lead you to the several levels and chapters of playing. The PSP demos will also contain the actual graphics and sounds of the original version. In some PSP demos, a number of controls are blocked so that you can't resist your temptation to buy the full version. Some PSP demos include a timer function which will lock the game from playing after a certain period.
There are number of reasons using a PSP demo.
The primary is that you can save a lot of money in this way. Obviously, it's of no use spending some money on the full version and only after you find it disgusting. You can choose the game by its taste, graphics, color, flow and characteristics.
It is always better to download the PSP demos on your computer and subsequently transferring it to the PSP. The method is quite simple. Once you have downloaded the game, plug the USB device of the PSP to the computer. Open 'My Computer' and transfer the game to the dedicated folder of the PSP. You will find the PSP marked as 'Removable drive' as the computer is used to describe it. Then disconnect the PSP. After that, open the PSP and select the folder 'game' and you are done. You can now run the PSP demo in your favorite device.
Now you must be thinking from where you can find PSP demos. Well, you don't have to worry at all. There are thousands of websites who offer free PSP demos. In most of the sites, the games are organized in such a way that you can find your suitable game at ease. Otherwise, you can Google the name or category of PSP demos. Only you have to choose the best one that suits your taste.
Testing some PSP demos before buying it can save you a lot of time and money. It will also help you to choose the game you are looking into.
And one last tip, don't forget to buy the full version if you like the PSP demo.
You can get lots of free PSP Demos here. Just check it out.
AP - Riot police clubbed, kicked and detained dozens in the Pacific port of Vladivostok on Sunday in a harsh crackdown on a protest that was one of dozens across Russia by people outraged over an increase in car import tariffs.
The United States has signed deals with several nations now to set up missile defense systems to counter balance Russian advancements or Iranian missiles (Chinese and Russian Technology). Russia is balking at further cooperation with NATO and the Russians attack on the Nation State of Georgia has increased tensions. The Bear, is on the hunt once again.
Iran has tested some more ICBM mid-range missiles and failed on their first attempt to launch a satellite into orbit, but so has every other nation who has ever attempted that on their first go around. Iran is making headway in other advanced weapon technologies and already has 1250 mile range missiles, so these are real threats. Additionally it has warned the world it is not afraid to use them if attacked.
Meanwhile, Iran has made unfortunate statements to its own people that it will blow Israel off the map. Worse, it is enriching uranium to make nuclear weapons and apparently has plutonium from China, or so some intelligence folks claim. Either way this is a problematic situation for the World and European nations that are within its missile range.
THEL ground systems and high energy airborne laser systems are now available and could indeed stop incoming missiles for the first time, and thus, it appears that Ronald Reagan's Star Wars system was not only possible, but was merely ahead of its time by several decades.
Even with these technologies and a missile defense shield something needs to be done with Iran and her insistence on making nuclear weapons and warheads to put atop of its Chinese made long-range missiles. 2008 has been a year of question marks, concerns and failed diplomatic efforts. Some ask is the world a safe place in the present period?

AP - Vice President-elect Joe Biden will oversee a task force that will make recommendations on how to build the ranks of the middle class, that ambiguously defined segment of society in which most Americans identify themselves.
Sony's PSP is a great handheld device. The games available for it might not be a very large one (without Homebrew), but what it lacks on that, more than makes up for it in media capabilities. It's an all entertainment system packed inside a single portable unit. I would say it is the best handheld in the world today.
I have compared using my PSP versus using my brother's Nintendo DS. I came up with this conclusion: Lets say that I'm going on vacation, have my PSP, I can listen to mp3 files thru my PSP music. I could play a game if I feel like it. I could watch a movie, or video clip. Show my loaded pictures to friends. I could read a magazine or even the Bible thru the browser. The Nintendo DS is just limited to playing games.
If you go get a PSP at your local electronic store, you will be able to do all the mentioned above. I have had my PSP for about 3 years and I remember that the usage I gave my PSP was o.k. But then, found out that not all PSPs can do the same things. Everyone on the internet kept talking about Homebrew. According to Wikipedia Homebrew is a term frequently applied only to video games that are produced by consumers on proprietary game platforms. Well I did my research and found out that I had not unlocked the true gaming potential of my PSP. Now I do believe that if I count the games the PSP can hold, it would be the largest list, beating any other game console out there. Why? Because the PSP can emulate so many other consoles, for example NES, SNES, SEGA GENESIS, MASTER SYSTEM, GAMEBOY, NEO GEO, and much, much more.
Installing the latest custom firmware will let you run Homebrew on your PSP. What this means is that you will be able to emulate many game consoles of the past like mentioned and download games that are design to only run on the PSP. This is all possible by just acquiring a memory card, since this will all reside in memory. I recommend getting a 4GB or 8GB memory card, so there will be lots of space for games, movies, video clips, pictures, music and more extra content. The usage I give my PSP now is much more than it used to be before knowing about Homebrew. I have nearly 100 games on it, plus all my media needs.
