Remember the days when you used to sit in front of the computer and bash away at the keys playing the latest game. When game consoles first came along the excitement about he future of gaming was well lets say less than enthusiastic. At the time no one ever imagined how far gaming would go and how big it would become.
When the Nintendo first arrived in the shops the games were pretty basic and basically mimicked the games available to play in the arcades. As the game console evolved the gaming ideas became more unique and games were being developed for the abilities of the game consoles themselves rather than porting the latest arcade game into a console were it didn't always translate that well.
With the release of the Nintendo Wii a whole new family gaming experience was born. Rather than going for the latest wow graphics and sound they concentrated on fun and playability. If you were having fun playing a game that was fun then it wouldn't matter too much if the graphics were not life like. In fact the cartoon graphics of many of the Wii games makes it more endearing.
As the Wii developed a whole new generation got into gaming including the parents and even grandparents who would have never considered playing games. The Wii provided more challenging and competitive multi player games where the fun was that you were playing against each other. This whole interactive idea of families spending time together soon caught on.
Soon after Nintendo released the Wii Fit. The Wii Fit built on the already established family gaming aspect of the Wii but addressed the other major concern about games consoles. Thee was growing concern that out children were becoming more sedentary and not getting the exercise they would if they were playing outside.
The Wii Fit added a whole new sporting and fitness aspect to the games where you had to use your whole body to play the games. The idea was that you would be getting exercise without realising it. The Wii Fit has become a hit and has also attracted more girls onto the gaming market with more games that would be more appealing to women.
You can now get Wii Fit accessories for your Nintendo Wii that allows you to play many different games such as skiing, yoga, hula hoops and many other sporting and exercise based games. More games are being developed all the time including games that are less sports based but still require the same level of physical activity to play.

VXA-V backup tape was the first version of VXA tape cartridges. The VXA-V was released for use with VXA-1 and VXA-2 Packet Drives and autoloaders. The V Tape has two different forms, the VXA-1 Tape and VXA-2 Tape.
The VXA1 Tape is made from PET-based substrates of 6.4 micrometer thickness. VXA 1 backup tape is compatible with all VXA-1 and VXA-2 drives. On the other hand the VXA-2 Tape is made from PEN-based substrate of 4.7 micrometer thickness. VXA 2 tape is compatible only with VXA-2 and future generation drives and autoloaders. The V Cleaner is designed for use in VXA-1 and VXA-2 drives. The V cleaner will get up to 20 uses in a VXA-1 drive and 20 to 80 uses in a VXA-2 drive, but it depends on the firmware level of the drive.
The VXA-Xis the newest version of media designed for use with only VXA-2 and future generations of VXA drives and autoloaders. VXA-X uses the same PEN based substrate as the original VXA-2 V23 tape. The X Tape is made from PEN-based substrate of 4.7 micrometer thickness. Compatible with VXA-2 and future generation drives and autoloaders, but due to the thinner substrate, X Tape is not compatible with VXA-1 drives.
X Cleaner is a new generation of cleaning tape designed for use in VXA-1, VXA-2 and future generation drives. It uses a cleaning media with particles having a slightly lower abrasion factor so it won't damage next generation VXA heads. Due to different cleaning times programmed into the drive, it will give up to 20 uses in a VXA-1 drive or 80 uses in a VXA-2 drive. The V Tapes and X Tapes share similar cartridge shells, come in a variety of tape lengths, utilize AME media and offer the same read/write speeds and capacities. However, X Tapes are specifically designed to cost less due to savings realized through increased manufacturing volumes.
VXA X Tapes offer three different cartridge capacities, ranging from 20 to 80 GB native capacity. These backup tapes provide users the flexibility to choose the capacity that best meets their current storage and budget needs. The customers have the option to add capacity on demand, by using larger capacity VXA Tapes. It is more efficient to do daily incremental backups on a smaller tape and weekly, full backups on a larger tape. The VXA tapes protect IT investment, because VXA X Tapes are engineered and designed for compatibility with the next generation of VXA.
The VXA X backup tape uses AME media. The AME media provides significantly longer tape life than other tape technologies. The VXA tape utilizes the packet technology, while the other backup tapes use the track-based technology. There is no Backhitching in VXA drives. Backhitching occurs when the data rates between the drive and the host computer system get out of sync. The computers tend to send data in short bursts, while tracking tape drives must transfer data to/from the tape at fixed tape speeds. When backhitching occurs, the drive has to stop transferring data, rewind, and then move forward to're-sync' with the data tracks on the tape. The drive can actually match the host transfer rate without backhitching, because the VXA Packet drives read packets instead of tracks. If backhitching does not occur, then the wear and tear on the media reduces dramatically. Therefore, the reliability and the tape life increases.
VXA X Tapes have been extreme-tested by independent labs under the most severe conditions. The tests included violent vibration, immersion in volcanic dust, hot coffee, boiling water and even freezing cartridges in a block of ice to assure reliable and complete data restores. VXA is 183 times more able to restore data, even from a damaged tape, which is more than any other backup tape media format.

AP - Democratic leaders plan to grant few if any privileges next week to Roland Burris, the man picked by Gov.
The notorious Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 finally makes its way to PlayStation 3 owners. The game is more than an abysmal port from the Xbox 360 (ala FEAR). Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 on the PlayStation 3 is virtually identical to the Xbox 360 version. In Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, players reprise their role as Scott Mitchell (leader of the Ghosts).
The storyline in the game is regarding Mexico and nuclear weapons. The protagonist (Scott Mitchell) and his squad is sent to Mexico to neutralize the terrorist threat. The gameplay ranges from the much maligned escort mission to the more engrossing eradicating your adversaries mission. All of the tasks from the Xbox 360 game like taking cover, and exploiting the Mule drone remains intact in the PlayStation 3 game. The six axis controller gives players the ability to dodge, dive, and execute evasive maneuvers instantaneously.
This is particularly useful when you are trying to shoot, give orders to your teammates, and move simultaneously. The six axis controller was implemented perfectly in Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. This is definitely a welcome addition to the somewhat cumbersome controller of the Xbox 360. There are some more multiplayer maps that are available as well. Graphically, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 adaptations of Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 are clones. There is no decrease in the frame rate on the PlayStation 3; the game runs at a nice and smooth frame rate throughout the duration of the game. The audio holds up nicely on the PlayStation 3.
Radio chatter will make gamers feel like they are in a war zone. Overall, Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is merely a mild improvement on the PlayStation 3 than on the Xbox 360 due to the controls and multiplayer.

Naruto: Rise of the Ninja follows the story of the popular anime series. The game's style is that of a 'beat 'em up' with RPG aspects, for example, your character's stats do increase and they will learn new moves and abilities as the game progresses.
Whilst I really liked the style of this game, and the use of cell-shading I was disappointed that the developers had not re-animated the cut scenes in the same manner (unlike the new Dragonball Z game), instead they have simply inserted actual slips from the anime into the video game. I actually find this to be quite lazy, especially since the game can be completed in about 10 hours. If they had added some nice CGI it would have made it a little bit more enjoyable.
Despite the length of this game, I really enjoyed playing through it. The graphics are impressive, the story immersive and the voice acting exactly what you can expect from a top class anime series. However, despite the impressive graphics, there is one very obvious flaw, and that is the fact that the in game characters never actually move their mouths to speak, the voice over's simply sound, this is unlike the Dragonball game where they speak even in battle.
I think that they have cut many corners in this game, there are things that I personally would have included in the game in order to improve the style and feel of it. I would have been much more impressed if they had bothered to animate things other than a simple walk, run and jump cycle. The fact that they simply didn't bother to animate the mouths at all throughout the game, leads me to believe that they simply wanted to release this game as soon as possible, with as little work required.
Missions CONSTANTLY require you to travel from A to B, and then back to A, and back to B about five times before you can proceed with the games actual story. This becomes ridiculous and irritating after the third time, and I couldn't help but think I would have enjoyed the experience a bit more if they had bothered to allow you to be transported to the correct location.. And before I get the, "Maybe they couldn't" line, they could and this is proven since after each mission, you can warp back to Leaf Village.
However, despite the many gripes I have about this game, and its lazy development, I am still highly pleased with the game and have enjoyed playing through it, and even though the game was only 10 hours long, I felt should it have continued, my patience would have been tried. I have even decided to watch the complete Naruto series, something that up until now I have failed to manage.
So, hopefully you will find this review useful, and I hope it helps you make the correct choice in your next video games purchase.
