Video Game Tester - How To Get Your First Job
As a video game tester your reputation is vital to your success. You must build your reputation in order to succeed in video game testing and land those wonderful jobs as a game tester. It doesn't matter what your first job is, just as long as you get one. You need to dip your toe into the water before you decide to swim. Try out video game testing and see how to works out, then move on to more bigger and important ones. Before you do any of that, you must first build your reputation. Companies will not hire you if you don't have a reputable reputation and experience. So how can you build it?
How to build your reputation
- Get public and start branding yourself. Submit videos or write blogs about video games that you've played that you've found bugs, glitches, and codes for. Make it look professional and make sure you know what you're talking about. You don't want to get a hardcore gamer pissed off because you gave them misleading information.
- Sign up for websites that help you get hired. These websites do work and they do get you hired. It's a great way to start off your career as a video game tester. You just sign up with them, they send you a video game to play and a testing assignment via email, and you just play the game and fill out the form. They then take that and find companies that best suit your needs.
- Get into public beta game testings. You might not get paid, but you'll get to see what a video game tester does, and it looks good when you apply for a company that you've tested many games even though you weren't getting paid. It makes you look dedicated and companies like to see that in their employees.
- Start networking and get into forums and other social networking websites. By doing this you'll be creating important relationships with the people around you so then they can help you succeed as you try to help them succeed.
The journey to becoming a video game tester is hard and you have to be dedicated. If not, you're just going to lose!

LiveScience.com - A smelly rotten-egg gas in farts controls blood pressure in mice, a new study finds. The unpleasant aroma of the gas, called hydrogen sulfide (H2S), can be a little too familiar, as it is expelled by bacteria living in the human colon and eventually makes its way, well, out. The new research found that cells lining mice's blood vessels naturally make the gas and this action can help
keep the rodents' blood pressure low by relaxing the blood vessels to prevent hypertension (high blood pressure). ...
